Description''This position maintains proper accounting records by accurately and efficiently computing, classifying, preparing, recording and verifying financial data.Job Responsibilities:Maintain daily Vehicle, MAFS, and Miscellaneous Accounts Receivable roll forwards.Prepare monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations.Audit invoices, research discrepancies, investigate overages/shortages, and determine/approve for collection or refund.Complete xxxx forms for approval. Reconcile bank statements to depository, sale check and sale draft accounts and investigate all bank account adjustments.Calculate and prepare month end journal entries for prepaid expenses and expense accruals.Review, balance, and interpret reports, ie Held Item report, Outstanding Returned Item report, etc., and reconcile report discrepancies and problems.Process sale day transactions and prepare and balance sale day deposits.Verify and post all daily and sale day activity to include deposits, receivables, returns, after sale voids, liabilities, receipts, etc. to general ledger.Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure payments are up-to-date. Review accounts payable posting for accurate use of general ledger accounts and proper use of sales and use tax.Handle Arbitration paperwork daily and reconcile Buybacks and Inherits weekly.Monitor recon charges for any negative additions, changes, and deletions to assure proper revenue postings. Determine if any journal entry is needed to account for the missing revenue.Prepare and balance ACH wire payment activity.Audit travel and expense reports for accuracy, correctly coding the expenses using the chart of accounts.Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.Perform other duties as assigned by management.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management required or 3 years of commensurate experience. 1 - 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and equipment required. Strong analytical and technical skills.Good organizational and problem solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.Skilled in creating spreadsheets and reports in Microsoft Excel and Word.Must be able to operate adding machines and other office equipment (ie, copier, fax machines, etc.).Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.Ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks, manual dexterity.Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception.Cox Automotive is a leader in vehicle remarketing services, digital marketing and software solutions for automotive dealers, manufacturers and consumers.
